The Judge, an undead revenant, is the risen form of an unjustly condemned and desecrated remains of a cleric of justice. In death, his purpose has become to punish any and all of those faithful that excessively stray from the path of the deity that they have sworn themselves to, much like the false deacon that cursed him to death. To the despair of ones that are the subject of his wrath, those sought for punishment cannot draw power from their deity while being hunted by The Judge. It is almost as if the deity itself has turned their back on their former adherent, allowing judgment to come as it may.
The Judge is the very image of death itself. Wearing only a simple black and tattered hooded robe, he appears like many other secretive creatures in the Delve. Only when he draws near is his true nature revealed. The charred skull of one burned at the stake leers out at those judged unworthy with crimson eyes. When delivering judgment, he wields a massive warhammer larger than that which most mortals his size could handle. Suffice to say, the results of his punishments are not pretty.
The Judge, despite his power to shatter a ‘false’ adherent’s connection to divine power, is not indestructible. Unfortunately for the unfaithful, no one has discovered a way to permanently destroy the undead entity and elimination of its corporeal form is only a minor setback. Because of this regenerative ability, most see the Judge as an aspect of death itself and make their peace. Those that don’t, however, must find a way to run from death itself.
